In addition, Birmingham Promise is hosting a College and Career Fair on Oct. 10 at Boutwell Auditorium starting at 10 a.m. where most colleges will be in attendance. Carver students from the Academy of Visual Communications had the opportunity to meet with award-winning journalist and storyteller Soledad O’Brien at the studios of WVTM NBC-13 recently. The scholars were able to meet seasoned professionals to motivate and guide the students in career and college options for TV production and get a behind-the-scenes view of a TV news production. #SuccessStartsHere
