In addition, Birmingham Promise is hosting a College and Career Fair on Oct. 10 at Boutwell Auditorium starting at 10 a.m. where most colleges will be in attendance. Come get more information on straight to the workforce opportunities and post secondary planning resources. It’s FREE and students are excused from school for attending college fairs and campus tours.
Today, eligible students at Carver High School registered to vote and learned about the election process during a voter registration drive. These students will now be able to participate in their first presidential election next month! #SuccessStartsHere
Carver students from the Academy of Visual Communications had the opportunity to meet with award-winning journalist and storyteller Soledad O’Brien at the studios of WVTM NBC-13 recently. The scholars were able to meet seasoned professionals to motivate and guide the students in career and college options for TV production and get a behind-the-scenes view of a TV news production. #SuccessStartsHere
