Ms. James and her fifth grade students with the Chick-fil-A Cow

Dorine James, a fifth grade English language arts teacher at Princeton Alternative Elementary School, is the latest recipient of the ā€œOne Class At A Timeā€ grant.

Representatives from Chick-fil-A (including the cow mascot) and CBS 42, along Instructional Superintendent Dr. Gwendolyn Tilghman, Principal Bruce Jackson, her fifth grade students and her daughter, surprised Ms. James with a check for $1,000 during a secret presentation on Feb. 14. CBS 42 featured Ms. James and her students during the News at 5 broadcast this evening.

The grant will enable Ms. James to purchase tools and materials that enhance classroom activities and provide incentives that celebrate their hard work and achievements.

ā€œI’m committed to providing my students with meaningful and enriching learning experiences. While my students are bright, capable, and supported at home, I want to ensure they have access to resources that elevate their education and make learning even more engaging,ā€ said James. ā€œWith your support, I can create opportunities for my students that inspire, motivate, and help them thrive.ā€
